By engaging the services of The Tomkins Tails, the Client (Pet Owner) agrees to the following terms and conditions, which constitute a legally binding service agreement.

1. Meet & Greet

Before the first service, the client can schedule a free "Meet & Greet" . This allows us to meet your pet, discuss specific needs, and ensure a good fit for both parties.

2. Professional Standard of Care

The Tomkins Tails agrees to provide services in a reliable, professional, and trustworthy manner. We are fully Insured and Bonded through Pet Care Insurance (PCI) for the protection of your pet and property.

3. Booking, Payments & Fees

Services must be scheduled in advance to ensure availability.

Confirmation: A service is only considered "booked" once confirmed via text or email by The Tomkins Tails.

Since we do not process direct payments on our website, bookings are formalized via email or text.

Payment Terms: Payments are due at the time of service. We accept Cash, or Zelle.

Holiday Surcharge: Services booked on major U.S. holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) will incur a $5 additional surcharge per visit.

4. Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Standard Cancellation: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled service.

Same-Day/No-Show: If the sitter arrives at the property and the service is canceled on-site, or the pet is unavailable, the 50% service fee is due. If you have already prepaid, the remaining 50% will be credited toward your next appointment.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are non-refundable. Any prepaid funds will be applied as a credit toward future services, minus the applicable cancellation fee

Payment of Fees: Late cancellation fees for cash-paying clients must be settled via digital payment or added to the next scheduled visit.

5. Health, Vaccinations & Safety

Vaccinations: The Client certifies that all pets are current on Rabies, Distemper, and Parvovirus vaccinations as required by New York State law.

Aggressive Behavior: The Client must disclose any history of biting or aggression. The Tomkins Tails reserve the right to terminate service immediately if a pet poses a danger to the sitter or the public.

Leash Policy: For safety, all dogs will be walked on a leash at all times.

6. Emergency Medical Care

In the event of a medical emergency, The Tomkins Tails is authorized to seek veterinary care.

We will attempt to contact the Client and the Emergency Contact first.

If unreachable, the pet will be taken to the nearest emergency animal hospital.

The Client agrees to be responsible for all veterinary costs.

7. Home Access & Security

The Client agrees to provide a functioning key, door code, or lockbox.

The Tomkins Tails is not liable for any loss or damage to the home if other individuals (contractors, cleaning crews, family members) have access to the property during the service period.

We commit to securing all locks and alarms as instructed upon departure.

8. Inclement Weather

During extreme weather (New York winter storms, heatwaves above 90°F, or lightning), outdoor walks may be shortened to "potty breaks" with indoor playtime to ensure the pet's safety. No refunds are issued for weather-adjusted services.

9. Privacy & Media

We respect your privacy. We may take photos of your pet for service updates or promotional use on our website/social media. Please notify us in writing if you wish to opt-out of social media sharing.
